Boiling Till It Reaches a Steam

Not sure where this song came from, exactly—I had probably been going through a Dennis Potter phase at the time (Lipstick on Your Collar, the original Bob Hoskins Pennies From Heaven), and this old-timey number just tumbled out. I was in a rock band at the time, so I had no one handy to play it with. But I held onto it until years later, when I took advantage of the fact that the leader of the Brooklyn church band I played in, Jason Benjamin, also led an old-time jazz band called the Red Hook Ramblers. So I paid them a bit to record it live in the church, and I'm pretty happy with the results. Enjoy!
