Waiting for the Gift

A look back at the time in early 2016 I played "Sound and Vision" as a memorial tribute to David Bowie as the opening song at Greenpoint Reformed Church, backed by the usual band (Jason Benjamin on trumpet, Taylor Bergen-Chrisman on bass, Aaron Beaumont on piano, Melissa Wrolstad on violin) and a ringer: flutist Donny McCaslin, who led the band on Bowie's final album, Blackstar.
